MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The governor's gambling task force has seized hundreds of electronic bingo machines at the Greenetrack casino after an Alabama Supreme Court ruling clear the way for it to act.
Gov. Bob Riley's office said 10 state troopers and liquor control agents entered the casino Tuesday and took control of the machines that the task force considers illegal.
The seizure took place after the Alabama Supreme Court struck down a Greene County circuit judge's order that had barred a raid of the casino. The judge's order had sought to protect more than 800 bingo machines at Greenetrack.
The task force says they may be removed.
