MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - All four people accused of killing Kyser Miree during a robbery attempt were in court Tuesday.
Dressed in Metro Jail uniforms, Judge George Hardesty denied bond to Jamal Lang, Bo Taylor, Michael Lee and Earnest Wiggins.
Twenty-three-year-old Miree was shot in the head during a robbery attempt at his Macy Place home on April 16.
Mobile Police Chief Tyrone Williams said the incident was a random act of violence and that the four suspects were out "looking for someone to rob."
Chief Williams said hard work by his police officers cracked this case.
The District's Attorney's office said between the four suspects their criminal records are lengthy.
"One of these young men has three current pending felony cases in this court all in grand jury awaiting action. Three of the four extensive records at youth center not first time around the corral," said John Tyson,Jr., Mobile County District Attorney.
Nineteen-year-old Michael Lee has the three felony arrest for possession of a controlled susbtance and possession of marijuana.
Tyson said Lee, Bo Taylor (18) and Jamal Lang (20) have a juvenile record that includes assault and burglary charges.
The district attorney's office said it's because of their criminal history and the nature of this crime that it asked Judge George Hardesty for no bond.
Lee's attorney, Jim Byrd argued he didn't hear any evidence in court that was overwhelming or impressive.
"My client has history that they mentioned in there, that only goes to issue of amount of bond, not whether he's entitled to a bond," said Byrd.
Judge Hardesty denied bond and the four capitol murder suspects will remain behind bars.
The four suspects are scheduled to appear back in court Monday, August 2, for arraignment and a bond review before Judge Michael McMaken
If they are convicted, the suspects could face the death penalty.
