MOBILE, Ala. - Investigators say a bank robber led them on chase through Mobile that ended in front of a Tillman's Corner daycare.
"We were on the playground and heard the tires squealing and the shots were going everywhere," said Jan Croley.
Croley is the Director at Kidz Korner Childcare. She says dozens of shots were fired, one of those hitting her building.
"The bullet lodged in the window frame," she said as she showed FOX10 News where the bullet hit.
Some parents were upset by the number of shots fired.
"The children were in the playground in the back," said grandparent Brenda Kirk. "It would've taken just one bullet to hit a little child in the head. What would that have been against somebody's money being stolen from a bank?"
The suspected bank robber was shot and killed. No one was injured inside the daycare.
"I think it's pretty much a miracle of God saying, 'No, not today. Not one of these angels," Kirk said.
Police say they don't know if the bullet that hit the daycare came from the suspect or an officer.
Police haven't released exactly how many shots were fired in all.
