KEARNY, Neb. (WALA) - Nebraska State Patrol troopers arrested two Florida residents after seizing nearly 16 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, a Nebraska trooper stopped Donnovan E. Woodberry and Justin P. Hicks on Interstate 80 in Buffalo County.
Authorities said the 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Woodberry was driving was speeding and, when he stopped it, the trooper smelled the odor of marijuana coming from it.
He searched it on probable cause and located 15.8 pounds of pot in several plastic baggies in a box in the car’s trunk.
Woodberry, 21, of Santa Rosa Beach and Hicks, 18, of Niceville were booked in the Buffalo County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
