BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) - Residents in the Cottage Park apartments in Bay Minette are on edge.
William McQeen, who lived at the complex, was arrested for sexual abuse Tuesday after police say he lured two children under the age of 12 into his apartment.
"You think you can trust somebody and you can't," said one resident.
The resident did not want her identity revealed, but wanted everyone to know about the arrest of 59-year-old McQueen.
"I'd love to say I'm not worried, but yes I certainly am. There's a lot of children here in this complex," said the resident.
Bay Minette Police Chief Michael Rowland said McQueen was arrested July 20 for enticing a child and indecent exposure. Police said their investigation revealed that the child had been sexually abused.
"Before we were able to serve that warrant we discovered there was a second victim who had also been sexually abused," Rowland said.
Rowland said McQueen was appealing to the victims on a childlike level and that this investigation is not over.
McQueen is facing two counts of enticing a child, two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years of age, and one count of indecent exposure.
Rowland said there's a strong possibility there may be more charges.
"This fellow was predatory upon children, he lived in an apartment complex and believe there may be more kids in the complex he enticed," Rowland said.
