LOXLEY, Ala. - A high speed chase kept Loxley police officers and four other police agencies busy Monday afternoon.

They were busy trying to stop the driver of a stolen SUV. Law enforcement officials say its something dangerous, that shouldn't have happened.

"Not could have been, it was a very dangerous situation. Numerous vehicles were run off the roadway. He was weaving in and out of traffic at speeds of 100 miles per hour down the interstate, taking emergency lanes, things of that nature. We were just looking to get him off the roadway and get him captured."

Police say the suspect, 27-year-old Derell Driscoll, stole the SUV in Foley.

The chase ended right off of Bay Bridge Road, when the suspect abandoned his car and ran through a neighborhood.

"Once we got in the area here, Mobile Police and Mobile County Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter in the area. From my understanding he was hiding under a house at one point," said Lieutenant Doug Phillips with the Loxley Police Department.

The suspect didn't give up easily, even though over 25 officers were looking for him.

"He attempted to flee again with all the officers in the area. A small foot pursuit ensued and he was apprehended," said Lt. Phillips.

But, it didn't end there. FOX10's cameras were rolling when Driscoll bolted out of the Loxley Police station, making another run for it. He was found a short time later hiding in some nearby woods.
