Chase ends with alleged robber in jail

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. - Mobile County Sheriff's Deputies say a robbery suspect led them on a short chase before he was caught.

Deputies got the call on November 18 around 9;00 p.m. from the Dollar General Store on Dauphin Island Parkway.

They say the suspect, Richard Beech, robbed the store, then took off in his vehicle. After a 20 minute chase down Bellingrath Road, Beech ran over spikes put out by deputies.

Beech was taken into custody and charged with third degree theft of property and attempting to elude police.
