BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) - Ian Aitcheson has been found guilty of his father's murder. He has also been found guilty of first degree arson.
Aitcheson was on trial for the murder of his father, Robert. Robert Aitcheson was found stabbed and burned inside his trailer in 2009.
Aitcheson will be sentenced May 20, and faces 10 years to life behind bars.
Four other teenagers have also been charged. They are Danny Weaver, Amber Jerkins, Keshjuan Betts, and Amen Wellock. Their cases were delayed because their attorneys were not ready to go to trial.
The suspects are not being tried together, so each will case will have a different jury each time. District Attorney Judy Newcomb said that to try each case may take the remainder of the year.
"These are very time consuming cases, that usually take a week, two weeks, 30 days," said Newcomb.
