MOBILE, Ala. - Prichard police say it's getting old. The same restaurant has been robbed five times, and it looks like the alleged robber may picking out a new hot spot to pull his heists.
The Golden Egg restaurant on St. Stephen's Road in Prichard has been robbed five times in just over a month.
Police say on the night of August 24, a man got out of the passenger side of a white Camaro or Trans Am, and walked in the Golden Egg restaurant, demanding money.
"When officers arrived on the scene, we were advised that a male subject had entered the business armed with a handgun, and demanded money from the cashier," said LaToya Veal with the Prichard Police Department.
The same thing happened twice in September. On the morning of September 12, police believe the same man went into the Golden Egg.
Surveillance video shows him pointing his gun at customers, telling them to stay down, while the cashier is getting money out of the register for him.
On October 1, a different man got out of a silver, early 2000 model Toyota van, and walked into the restaurant.
Surveillance video shows him aiming his gun at the waitress as she empties the cash register for him. He made sure he had all the money from the register and left.
On October 3rd, that man pulled up in front of the Golden Egg, and got out of a white Buick sedan.
He walked through the door, went to the side of the counter with a semi-automatic in hand, and told the cashier to give him money. She told him no, so he walked around the counter and just took the register.
Police believe after the suspects robbed the Golden Egg, they changed vehicles, traveled a short distance down I-65, and robbed the Waffle House on Spring Hill Avenue.
"A male subject entered the location armed with a handgun, pointed that handgun at the attendant at the cash register and demanded money. He then went around the back of the counter and took the cash register from the business and fled the location," said Corporal Charles Bagsby with the Mobile Police Department.
Police say at least four different vehicles have been used in the robberies.
They say the man involved in the robbery on October 3 is in his early 20's, and is about 5' 9, with a slim build, and a tattoo on his left forearm.
He was last seen wearing a red and white cap, long black shorts, a long red shirt, and a black bandanna.
He may be driving a vehicle with Alabama license plate number 2A92698.
