MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile police need your help to catch a robbery suspect.  He may have gotten away with the cash, but the store has some pretty good pictures of him.

Cpl. Chris Levy said there were several customers in the Circle K on Dauphin Street around 1 p.m. on June 3. But police said shopping apparently wasn't on the mind of one man.

"He pretended as if he was going to purchases some items. He waited in line as if he was going to be a regular customer," Levy said.

When it was his turn, police said instead of handing over his cash, he decided to help himself.

"And then when the clerk opened the register he reaches across and starts grabbing some money from there,  came around the counter indicated to the clerk that he was armed with a gun, and the clerk moved out of the way.  He continued to grab more money and then ran out of the store," Levy said.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the robbery.  In fact, it was all over is just a few seconds.

"This particular guy, we got some good pictures of his face, and stuff like that. So it kind of leads us to believe that maybe his decision to rob the place wasn't necessarily well planned out," Levy said.

The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.  But thanks to the video, police are hoping he'll be behind bars soon.

"It's pretty clear. I definitely believe if you knew him, or if you had seen him like in your neighborhood, or whatever you would definitely be able to pick him out," he said.

If you recognize the robber, call Crimestoppers at 208-7000.
