Moss Point charged with molesting 11-year-old girl

    MOSS POINT, Miss. (WALA) - Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies said a Moss Point man was arrested for assaulting a girl when she was 11 years old.

    Joseph Dewberry, 19, is charged with sexual battery and molestation-touching a child for lustful purposes.

    Investigators said the father of the now-12-year-old girl contacted the JCSO on Oct. 6 and told them Dewberry was having sex with and touching his daughter. Investigators said the victim and suspect knew each other.

    Dewberry is being detained at the Jackson County Detention center on $100,000 bond.  If convicted, he could face a maximum life sentence.
