MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - It took spike strips to end a police chase between authorities and a suspect who Mobile Police say crashed into three of the department’s patrol cars.

Police arrested 26-year-old EV Dumas after the Sunday morning chase. Police said it started when an officer initiated a traffic stop around 9:30 on March 3.

After Dumas, driving a green Mustang, sped away, officers spotted his vehicle on Government Blvd. Police disabled the vehicle using spike strips near the corner of Navco Road and McVay Drive.

Dumas was transported to Mobile Metro jail and faces charges of drug possession, reckless endangerment and attempting to elude police.
