PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Two Pensacola Police officers are on leave after an officer-involved shooting early Sunday morning.
Authorities said officers Matt Coverdale and Jeremy Pillow were on patrol around 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 16 when Timothy Lowe, 28, shot a man in his car over drugs. Lowe apparently turned his gun on the officers when they arrived in the parking lot and they both fired, striking him in the leg.
The PPD said Lowe dropped the weapon and attempted to run from the officers after he was shot in the hotel parking lot on West Cervantes Street; he was apprehended after a short foot chase.
Lowe and the victim were both transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released.
Lowe was arrested and police charged him with aggravated battery, assault on a law enforcement officer,
possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, armed robbery, and resisting an officer with
violence.
