MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police are looking for a suspect they said forced his way into a woman's home on Orchard Dr. and robbed her at gunpoint Monday, February 18.

Police responded to a burglary call on Orchard Drive North Monday around 8:45 p.m.

“The victim stated that while she was inside her residence, an unknown black male forcefully entered her home and made a demand of property,” said Ashley Rains, spokesperson for the Mobile Police Department.

Police said the victim, who said she was too scared to speak with FOX10 News, gave the suspect $11.

“And after, that he left her house in an unknown direction,” Rains said.

The property where the crime took place is fenced, and an unpaved county road runs past the rear of the property.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and ask the public to come forward with any information about the incident.

One of the victim's neighbors said she's been burglarized several times.

“The lady that lives there by herself with her daughter, it's terrible man. She's terrorized right now. She doesn’t know what to do because the neighborhood's gotten bad,” said a concerned neighbor.

He also said police already cruise Orchard Drive North on a regular basis.

Police said once they catch the suspect, they plan to file burglary and robbery charges against him.
