PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Pensacola police arrested a man they say was caught leaving a house he tried to burglarize.
Terry Gould Jr., 18, was arrested Friday afternoon on East Jackson Street after a caller told 911 dispatchers they saw someone trying to break into a home there.
PPD Lt. Doug Baldwin said patrol officers responded to the call around 12:30 p.m. and saw Gould leaving the home and walking to an SUV.
When they stopped the vehicle about two houses down and questioned him, police say Gould said he was at the house to contact someone about a dog.
An investigation revealed that he had tried to enter the occupied house by trying to kick in the back door. He failed, and resorted to banging on the front door. Police said when no one answered, so he went to the vehicle and left.
Baldwin said police are still investigating whether Baldwin was involved in any other burglaries.
