DAPHNE, Ala. - Daphne Police are asking for the public’s help in catching an armed robber.
Detective Jason Vannoy said a man armed with a knife entered the Circle-K on Main Street in Daphne about midnight on Monday. He confronted the clerk and demanded money from the register.
“Definitely a dangerous guy if he’s willing to go
out and do that bold of a robbery in a store and threatens a clerk
with a knife,” said Vannoy. That’s definitely serious
and we’d like him caught.”
Store surveillance video shows the suspect enter the store
and stand at the counter for a few seconds before leaping over it
to approach the clerk.
Police believe there might have been someone else who saw what happened. The video shows a customer pulling in just as the robber is making his getaway.
“A witness pulls up here in a white car. A witness pulls up and he watches him leave and you can actually see his car. He backs up to see which direction he runs,” Detective Vannoy points out.
Police say the robber got away with over $200 and fled on
foot. He was last seen going north on Main St. at Van Buren St.
The suspect was wearing a camouflage mask, gloves, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and is of medium build. If you have any information that can help catch this robber, you’re asked to call the Daphne Police Department.
