MOBILE, Ala. - A bank robbery led to a manhunt Monday in West Mobile.
Mobile Police and the US Marshals Regional Task Force were on the case. Police said two men robbed The First Community Bank on Cottage Hill Road around 10:00 Monday morning.
Police said Antonio Winston was involved in an armed robbery with Saifuddin Abdul Mutadin Alston. Armed with shotguns and dogs, Mobile Police made sure the men they were looking for didn't get away.
"One male enters inside the bank, hands the teller a note demanding money and indicating he was armed with a gun. He was actually able to leave the location with money while the second suspect waited in a vehicle," Officer Christopher Levy said.
An officer saw a man matching the description, near Oklahoma Road. Then they set up a perimeter.
"I was so upset because I was like what if he's in the house," Terica White said.
White was extremely concerned. She returned home to find a chaotic scene.
"I pull in and look right there, and I saw the truck on the side of the house with the dogs, guns and police," White added.
Police said the suspects parked their red truck in White's yard, then ran and hid in the woods.
"They got a phone call about seeing someone, they ran and jumped over the fence," White said.
Police caught up with the suspects in a wooded area off Cody Road. Across town, the bank temporarily closed while police fingerprinted and processed the scene.
While processing that scene police determined one of the suspects, Alston, is linked to other crimes. Police said Alston is responsible for an armed robbery back on November 9 at the Compass Bank on Government Boulevard.
He is now being charged with two counts of first degree robbery. Winston is facing one charge.
