SARALAND, Ala. (WALA) - A Daphne man was busted by Saraland Police after they say he traveled more than 20 miles to meet two children for sex.
The arrest of 59-year-old Alan Prine is the latest in a long line of men picked up by the Saraland Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children investigation unit.
Saraland Police nabbed Prine, on Tuesday, Nov. 20, suspected of electronic solicitation of a child. He is accused of traveling from his home in Daphne all the way to Saraland to meet what he thought were two underage girls.
"Whenever he showed up, he was surprised," said Cpl. James Morton with the Saraland Police Department. " He was not expecting law enforcement at all."
Cpl. James Morton said, for the last few days, Prine has been using the internet to chat with what he believed were nine and 10-year-old girls.
Saraland Police believe Prine intended to have sex and police said when Alan Prine showed up in Saraland he had several items with him.
Items that led them to believe he was hoping to produce child pornography.
FOX10 News went looking for Prine or someone who could speak on his behalf, but we got no answer at his home.
Cpl. Morton told us what he knows about the suspect.
"He does not have any type of criminal history, as we can tell. He does odd jobs," said Cpl. Morton. "This is the first we heard of him."
Now, he's faces six charges and remained behind bars this afternoon. Two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, 2 counts of traveling to meet a child for sex, and 2 counts of attempting to manufacturing child porn.
