PENSACOLA, Fla. - It didn't take long for Escambia County Sheriff's Deputies to find a teenage Waffle House robber, who was hiding in some bushes.
Authorities say 17-year-old Denzel James Reeves Wright walked into the Waffle House on Pensacola Boulevard around 10:30 Wednesday night. He jumped on a table with an assault rifle, demanded money from the register, and fled the scene.
K-9 units were brought in to search for Wright. They found him a short time later, hiding in a clump of bushes with the assault rifle. At first, Wright refused to surrender. Then he came out, and put his weapon down. Deputies started to walk up to him, but he rolled toward the rifle as if to re-arm himself. Wright was hit in the face by deputies, and quickly arrested.
Wright will be charged with robbery with a firearm, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and resisting arrest with violence. Due to Wright being 17-years-old, he does not have a bond unless authorities decide to charge him as an adult.
