MOLINO, Fla. - A community in Florida remains on high alert, after two teenagers are attacked within a few days of each other. The common denominator: they were both cheerleaders.

Now investigators in Molino are looking into whether the suspect is targeting cheerleaders.

The most recent home invasion happened Tuesday morning on Nancy Lane. The McMahan's driveway is about a quarter mile long, and dogs surround the house. But someone made it into their home while their 16-year-old daughter was inside.

"Its been traumatic for us. We'll be fine, but we're all on edge right now," Angela McMahan, the victim's mother, said.

The family says the suspect broke in through a window. The victim knew something was wrong when her dog started barking.

"She had heard a noise, so she was in kitchen. She threw two glasses at him, kinda cowered down on the floor, because he did come after her with something, cut her a little bit. She had mace in her pocket and was able to spray and fight him off," McMahan said.

McMahan had just bought the pepper spray Saturday, after hearing that one of her daughter's friends was attacked Friday.

Police reports says the attacker called the other victim by name and said quote, "He would be back to finish the job."

Investigators are looking into whether he's targeting cheerleaders. McMahan has no clue.

"I don't know what to think. Coincidental or not, I haven't drawn any conclusions," she said.

All they do know is they're going to do everything they can to make sure the suspect is caught.

The attacker is described to be about six-foot two, with a thin build. He was wearing all black.

If you have any idea who did this, call Crime Stoppers 850-433-STOP.
