BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. - The Baldwin County School Board will consider filling seven vacant teaching and support positions on Thursday. There is a meeting set for 6:30 p.m. at the Bay Minette office.
However, none of those positions will be filled with former teachers. The teachers were laid off earlier this year because of district money problems.
The Baldwin County Education Association said "Outside people are taking positions that used to belong to former Baldwin County teachers and that's not fair," said Director John Hudson.
" I have nothing against the people who are set to fill the vacancies, but the school board should consider hiring laid off employees rather than outsiders."
