Man gets 30 years for killing friend

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A South Florida man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting his friend after a fight.

A Palm Beach County judge sentenced 29-year-old Gary Butler on Wednesday. He was convicted last month of second-degree murder.

Authorities say Butler and 22-year-old Tabitha Hamilton had been drinking and using drugs in January 2011 when they got into a fight. The Palm Beach Post (http://bit.ly/XX5g3Y ) reports that Butler and Hamilton got into a fight after Butler repeatedly grabbed at her crotch and tried to grope her breasts. Hamilton won the fight, but Butler ended up shooting her several times in the driveway of her Riviera Beach home.
