Florida Area 1 Special Olympics kick off Saturday

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - The Area 1 Summer Games of the Special Olympics kicks off on Saturday and will include athletes from four panhandle counties.

Olympians from Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties will begin with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. at the Corry Station track, events will take place across the athletic facilities.

Corry Station is located at 650 Roberts Ave. in Pensacola.

Events scheduled are tennis, soccer, bocce, volleyball, cycling and track and field events.
