WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) - Deputies with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office have located a young girl who went missing from South Florida on Saturday.

12-year-old Meagan Williams was reported as missing from South Florida on June 23.

WCSO said Williams met her suspect kidnapper, Dana Broberg, 30, while on the internet.

Sheriff's deputies said Broberg drove to Margate, Fla., and picked the child up from her home. An Amber Alert was released for Williams from the Margate Police Department.

Law enforcement was able to pinpoint the location of the subjects through phone tracking and were alerted that they were entering Walton County shortly before 4 p.m. this afternoon.

The sheriff's office says deputies and other law enforcement began patrolling I-10 and were able to spot a vehicle which matched the description of the suspect’s given from the Amber Alert.

A WCSO deputy conducted a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle at around 4 p.m., in which the suspect and victim were located.

Williams is safe at this time and Broberg was arrested.

WCSO says they have no further information at this time and their investigation is ongoing.
