GULF COAST, (WALA) - If you are going to be on the road this Labor Day expect to see officers on the road right there with you.
Mobile Police are holding safety checkpoints throughout the city. It's an effort to make sure everyone is complying with the traffic laws. They will be checking for proper paperwork like vehicle registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver's license. They will also be checking to make sure you are using your seat belt and proper child safety restraints.
Highway Patrolman from Alabama and Florida are teaming up for the 19th annual "Hands Across the Border" campaign. Officers will be strictly enforcing traffic laws, and looking for reckless or impaired drivers.
Hands Across the Border will continue through the Labor Day holiday.
It's an effort to make sure everyone is complying with the traffic laws.
Be sure you have your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance. Police will also check for seat-belts, and proper child safety restraints.
