PENSACOLA, Fla. - Pensacola police officers received a memo Friday, informing them about a change in the department's taser policy.
Assistant Chief Chip Simmons sent the memo, which said officers are not allowed to fire their tasers out of or into moving vehicles.
The policy change comes less than a week after the death of 17-year-old Victor Steen. The teen was run over and killed by a police car on Cervantes Street.
Witnesses told FOX10 News an officer fired his taser from the window of his car as he chased Steen. The teen was on a bicycle.
