PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Wednesday, Dec. 15: Pensacola police are searching for a third witness in this altercation. They say three people called in to 911 after witnessing the punch. Two callers were identified and interviewed, but the third caller's phone number was lost during a transfer of the call.
A detective said the 911 recording reveals the witness saw the incident and likely has valuable information needed for the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Detective Jon Thacker at 850-435–1973 or the Pensacola Police Department at 850-435–1900.
Tuesday, Dec. 14: A Pensacola man has been charged with manslaughter after police say he punched another man in the face and the victim died from his injuries.
Telly Jabar Hill, 27, of Pensacola was charged Monday afternoon. Police say he punched Terry Lindon Kelley, 34, of Pace after a minor car accident.
The incident happned Saturday, December 11, at about 6:30 p.m. on W. Cervantes Street.
Witnesses told police Hill and Kelly were involved in a minor car crash at 601 W. Cervantes St. When Kelley got out of his vehicle to view the damage, witnesses said that Hill, who was an occupant of the other vehicle, punched Kelley one time in the face with his fist.
Kelley fell to the ground and suffered a massive head injury. He was taken to Baptist Hospital where he died Monday, December 13.
Police say Hill left the scene of the accident after Kelley went down. Hill was arrested Monday and booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
The crash remains under investigation.
