Student dies after collapsing in class

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Florida (WALA) - Faculty and students were stunned Thursday when a 15-year-old student, identified as Gabe Carter, collapsed in class at Tate High School after a seizure. Officials say the student was life flighted to West Florida Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

School officials say they will have grief counselors at school Friday to help students deal with the tragedy.

The cause of death is not known at this time.
