Mayor Craft pleads case for RESTORE Act

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft has a big job to do Wednesday morning. He's testifying before Congress members about the impact of the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill on behalf of Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Mayor Craft will testify before the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure about the need for the RESTORE Act to be approved by Congress.

The Act will direct a large portion of fines expected to be paid by BP to the five coastal states affected by the disaster. The oil spill impacted businesses and individuals in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Texas.
 
Mayor Craft's testimony will address the damage, done, the necessity for the money to be distributed to the coastal states, , and how the money will be used to repair and improve the ecology and economy of the Alabama coast.
