MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police say two men broke into a home on Baltimore Street around 7:45 Thursday night, and got away with a lot of cash.
Eight people, ranging in ages from two to 64-years-old, were inside the home when the men broke in.
Possibly the most shocking part is that the men threatened to shoot a two-year-old if his family didn't give them money.
Victim Ericka Betton says she and her family were watching TV, playing on the computer, and talking, when two men threw open her kitchen door and pointed guns at them.
"We were sitting in the living room and in the kitchen. Someone came in from behind us. They came through my son's window," Betton said.
Before the suspects went into the house, they stopped at the family's pool in their back yard, took the ladder away from the pool, and used it to climb in a window.
"They came all the way up to the front of the house. They had guns, they told everyone to get on the ground. After they got everybody on the ground they asked me to go in the room to get the money out of the room. When I couldn't get into the desk because I couldn't find the right key, I couldn't find the keys, they grabbed him and put a gun to his head until I found the key," she said.
Betton then gave the men the money they demanded. They led Betton and her two-year-old son back to the living room.
"We laid back on the ground, then they told everybody to pull everything out of their pockets, and they said if anybody had anything left in their pockets they were going to kill them. They checked everybody, then they left out the door and shot and went that way somewhere," said Betton.
The suspects were wearing masks and gloves, so Betton said even if she knows them, she couldn't identify them.
