GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - A $7 billion settlement with BP will mean a whole new round of claims on the Gulf Coast due to the 2010 oil spill.

The new oil spill claims process begins today, June 4. Eighteen claims offices opened simultaneously as a part of a settlement negotiated with BP and approved by Louisiana judge Carl Barbier.

For folks who feel they were short-changed by BP or the Gulf Claims Facility the new claims process is another chance to receive compensation.

The new process is being administered by attorney Patrick Juneau.
