BCSO Explorer program holds Poker Run

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - The BCSO Explorer Program is holding its 1st Annual Poker Run, fund raising event Saturday July 28, 2012 at the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office Training Facility.

The Training Facility is located on Mosley Road, in Stapleton (East of Hwy 59, between Stapleton & I-10).

The Poker Run is open to all. Registration and the first Bike out will be at 8 a.m. The registration cost is $15 for the driver and Co-riders are $10 each. Four-wheeled vehicles are allowed with a registration charge of $15 for drivers and $10 for each participating passenger.

Each person registered will receive a registration gift, one free door prize entry ticket, snacks and lunch.

Games will be available to win additional entries for the more then 35 Door Prizes.

A silent/live auction will be held for 12 items with values up to $600. Split the pot tickets will also be for sale.

All Prize Drawings will begin at 12:30 p.m. You must be present to win.

Explorer Programs were designed to give youth interested in law enforcement, an opportunity to learn more about the various aspects of law enforcement.

The BCSO Explorer Program is open to youth ages 15-20 who reside in Baldwin County. Requirements for participation include an application, interview and approval process, a minimum GPA, monthly attendance at training meetings and a commitment to be involved in as many Explorer activities as possible!

Explorers are given an opportunity to EARN shadowing opportunities with various divisions of the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office’s personnel.
