BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - A man living in Baldwin County is charged with sexual abuse of a child under 12 and attempted production of pornography with a minor. He also has an immigration hold.
Authorities said a tip was given to the Department of Human Resources after noticing changes in the child's behavior.
“That’s how this case really came to the forefront. Someone in a position of authority observed something that was a red flag; observed some behavior. And that's what lead this case to where it is today,” said Baldwin County Investigator Eric Winberg.
Authorities said Josue Santos took intimate pictures of a child whom he knew.
Investigators questioned Josue Santos about the allegation, and they said he confessed to parts of the charge.
"According to the suspect, he did actually explain to us in great detail how he actually attempted to capture those images,” said Winberg.
Investigators seized the suspect’s computer and phone and are searching for pictures and video as additional evidence.
Authorities said this case is a reminder for counselors and parents to pay attention to changes in a child's behavior.
