FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) - Hundreds gathered in Downtown Foley for the annual Uptown Halloween Party.
Citizens took in a number of festivities including face painting, games and trick or treating Thursday evening.
The free event, held by the city of Foley, gave families an opportunity to celebrate Halloween a little early and fellowship with their neighbors.
"This was established for just that reason. To provide on Halloween a safe place for kids to come, the parents to come, the grandparents come, cousins come," said Event Coordinator, Linda Hula.
Foley High School art students, under the supervision of Linda Smith, painted faces for children.
"It's just a big family event,” Hula said.
Kids of all ages participated in a costume judging contest for the chance to take home ribbons and trophies.
