FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) - Baldwin County Sheriff's Office officials say Joseph Lambert, 25, of Foley, Alabama was arrested Wednesday evening and charged with crimes related to making meth.

"Deputies actually went to the scene, knocked on the door - Mr. Lambert's father was home, he granted consent for the deputies to search the residence," said Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found a one pot lab, actively producing meth.

"Deputies did find some finished product," said Lowery. "The one pot lab generally are for personal consumption - they just don't produce enough for distribution."

The sheriff's website states Lambert is charged with chemically endangering a child. Officials said two of Lambert's children, including a three year old girl, were present when he was arrested.

"They were in a room, they were not in the actual room where the meth was being made. They were in an adjacent room," said Lowery.

Lambert also faces manufacturing and possession charges. His bond is currently set for $40,000.

"The chemicals vaporizing off the product itself were strong to the point that anybody in or around the pot were in danger," said Lowery.

Sheriff's officials said they investigate at least one meth operation per week. Lately, the cases involved children.

"Their only priority is their addiction. The children are just non-existent, they are just focused on making the drugs and it just consumes their life," said Lowery.
