Gulf Shores cleans up Isaac's mess

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - People living in Gulf Shores are cleaning up as Isaac's storm surge recedes.

Grant Brown with Gulf Shores Recreation and Cultural Affairs said the city prepared for the worst as they watched Isaac cut its path across the Gulf. Isaac did minimal damage, and there was no structural damage.

Thursday evening, only three roads were covered in water; 4th, 6th, and Windmill Ridge Road. If you encounter water on these roads or any other road, turn around, don't drown.

Isaac also pushed sand onto the roads. Street sweepers and bulldozers worked to put it back on the beach.

The beach is open for business, however, double red flags are flying.

Gulf Shores is looking to give visitors a great Labor Day Weekend.
