DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) - Many attended a wake in Daphne Tuesday night, January 22,  for 24-year-old Allen Cade Davis, who was killed during a 'freak accident' over the weekend involving a crossbow.

By 5 p.m., a sea of cars filled the Jubilee Baptist Church parking Lott. Friends and family said they came to pay their last respects.

Davis' death remains under investigation by the Orange Beach Police Department.

Police told FOX10 it appears Davis had been hunting at night with two friends near Barber Marina in south Baldwin County.

They said they believe a loaded crossbow in the backseat of Davis' vehicle somehow went off and went through the driver's seat, piercing through Davis' chest.

Friends and family said Davis was planning on a career in the military. He and his family are devout Christians and lifelong members of the Jubilee Baptist church.

Many in the community said Davis will be greatly missed.
