MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Vicar General of the Mobile Catholic Archdiocese called action taken Thursday by the Fairhope Planning and Zoning Committee, "another small step down the road" toward the construction of a Catholic High School to serve Baldwin County.  The Committee approved the subdivision of property at the intersection of Alabama Highways 181 and 104.

Msgr. Stephen E. Martin told FOX10 News Friday, it is the intention of the Archdiocese to proceed with a new school, but only when the funding is in place.

During an interview with FOX10 News anchor Bob Grip in September, 2010, Archbishop Thomas Rodi said he expected a new high school to cost $30 million to build.
