SILVERHILL, Ala. (WALA) - Investigators are still trying to find out what caused the death of a mother and daughter in Silverhill. Samantha Combs and her mother, Donna Henderson, were found dead in their mobile home on Tuesday.
Samantha's friends and co-workers say she spent most of her time at school, with her mom, and in the kitchen at Willy T's.
"I don't think I've accepted that she's gone, she lived 18 years, and it's not enough. It's not enough for someone like Sam," said Ashli Cosby. "Her mom was her world and whenever she wasn't working, she was taking care of her mom."
Cosby said it's been tough getting through the work days without seeing Samantha's smile.
"You saw her smile and it would just make your day and she wanted to bring so much. She wanted to make you just as happy as she was, and that was often," she said.
Samantha's co-workers said they considered her a part of their Willy T's family, which makes her death even harder to accept. But not knowing why is the hardest part.
"It's like losing a family member and it's hard losing someone under these circumstances, not knowing what has happened, and not knowing if it was a homicide or if it's accidental, but it's hard," Cosby said.
"I don't understand why this happened to her and her mom, but I'm hoping soon they will get some closure on what really happened to them," said Liz Johnson.
Until that happens, Samantha's friends post goodbye messages on her Facebook page, and messages hoping that she is resting in peace.
Baldwin County District Attorney Judy Newcomb said the State Fire Marshal's Office is now involved in the investigation of the deaths of Donna Henderson and Samantha Combs.
Autopsy results are still pending.
