One killed in Gulf Shores wreck

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - Gulf Shores officials say one person was killed New Year's Eve in a wreck on East Canal Drive and East 5th Street.

Gulf Shores Police & Fire Departments responded to the two-vehicle accident close to midnight.

According to police, one of the vehicles flipped and the driver was killed.

The victim's name is not being released at this time.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, and it is unknown yet if alcohol was a factor.

The wreck is still under investigation.
