SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WALA) -

Small coins can add up to a big change in hunger with the Pennies for Prodisee Pantry fundraiser.

Organizers for the non-profit food bank have set a goal of one million pennies or $10,000 for the fundraiser, which runs through April 30, 2013.  Money collected through the fundraiser will help Prodisee Pantry provide fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, bread and canned staple grocery items to 500 families.  Currently, the food bank assists 1,000 families a month.

The coins are being collected at several businesses in Baldwin County, Bancorp South branches in Mobile and Baldwin Counties and at Prodisee Pantry.  For more information on drop off locations, click here or call (251) 626-1720.
