BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - The defense attorney’s for an Orange Beach man who is accused of shooting a tourist have waived a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
A Baldwin County judge granted a motion to relieve Steven Pinson of his electronic monitoring device on Sept. 26. Pinson is charged with attempted murder after shooting a man who police said was vacationing with his family in the area.
According to police, Pinson and Damon Hembree, of McCalla, Ala., argued as they drove down Perdido Beach Boulevard .
When they hit Highway 161, police said Hembree walked up to Pinson’s truck. At that point, witnesses reported that Pinson and Hembree argued and Pinson shot Hembree in the chest.

Pinson’s attorney’s filed a joint motion with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office to take Pinson’s GPS monitoring device off. It was mandated Pinson wear it as a condition of his bond when he was released in August.
