GULF SHORES, Ala. (WALA) - With beautiful weather expected through the weekend, Shrimp Festival organizers are hopeful for a record turnout for the annual event.

One exciting change for 2012 is an expanded footprint, offering a lot more elbow room for visitors. Arts and crafts vendors have been moved from the boardwalk area and parking lots to Gulf Beach Highway which has been closed off at the intersection of Hwy. 59.

Although fresh gulf shrimp may be the big draw, there's something to please all of the senses from stunning visual art to live music.
