The Haven holds fundraising recital

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (The Haven) - Despite recent heavy torrential rain, the Haven went to the Jungle recently as Triple Threat Dance Studio held a fundraising recital for the no-kill shelter.

Nearly 100 people gathered at the Foley Civic Center to watch approximately 20 dancers perform their first recital since opening last August.

The Civic Center stage was decorated in a jungle motif and, on the audience’s circular tables, were photos of available Haven cats and dogs. Two long tables at the entrance held the silent auction items and the yummy refreshments provided by the dance studio and Specialty Bakery.

"The dancers did a marvelous job putting on their performances and we were also able to raise nearly $500 for The Haven," says Andrea Dickey, Studio Manger and instructor. "The parents of our students loved the idea of helping a charity likeThe Haven with an end-of-year performance. They look forward to doing something like this again."

"We are grateful to Andrea and her staff and students who worked so hard in putting together this event," said Mike Graham, The Haven’s executive director. "The money generated from the recital will enable the Haven to continue its work of helping the abused, abandoned and neglected animals of Baldwin County as well as ensuring that no healthy, adoptable animal will be put down solely because of lack of space."
