Veterans receive Alabama Legislature Medal of Valor

BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) - State Representative Harry Shiver is honoring 150 veterans at William F. Green Veterans Home in Bay Minette Thursday, August 9 at 10 a.m. He will be presenting them with the Alabama Legislature Medal of Valor.

Rep. Shiver sponsored a resolution during the last regular session of the legislature, which established the Alabama Legislature medal of Valor. The medal honors all Alabama wounded warriors, disabled veterans and families of fallen service members, covering all conflicts and wars.

The medal is a partnership between the Alabama Legislature, the Alabama Sports Festival Foundation and the Governor's Commission on Phyiscal Fitness.
