GULF SHORES, Ala. - The normally quiet Regency Club Condominium Complex turned chaotic Tuesday when Laura Freeman said a neighbor came to her door looking for help.

"About 4:00 p.m. a lady came and knocked on my door, and said somebody was stuck under a truck, and call 911," Freeman said.

When Freeman came outside she saw 44-year-old Tony Brown trapped under his SUV.

Brown was working underneath the vehicle when it fell from the supporting jack and collapsed on top of him.

"I walked outside and the woman was out there screaming, saying, 'Help me, help me.' Get her husband. So, I ran across the street and got the man across the street, and the guys next door, and they all went over there and tried to pick the truck up off the guy," she said.

Brown was rushed to South Baldwin Hospital. He was taken off life support Friday.

"I talked to some people, and they said that he was brain dead, and they had to go ahead and take him off life support. He had nine broken ribs," she said.

Neighbors said the family had recently moved to the complex from Arkansas.
