GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - The Humane Society of South Mississippi has announced that 42 dogs seized in a raid on a Stone County puppy mill will be available for adoption this Friday.
A Humane Society staffer told WLOX TV that the organization expects a lot of interest in the pets.
The Humane Society took 52 of the more than 70 dogs that were taken in the raid last week. Ten of those have serious medical problems, like broken bones, a collapsed trachea, and eye problems. Those animals will be placed in foster homes.
Other dogs taken in the raid went to the Southern Pines Animal Shelter in Hattiesburg and were to be put up for adoption.
