GREEN COUNTY, Miss. (WALA) - Two teens remain in the hospital following a deadly accident in Greene County, Mississippi that killed three other teens.

The crash happened Wednesday morning around 8:30 a.m.

Black ribbons hang from the doors and gates of Greene County High School in Leakesville, Mississippi, while the flag flies at half staff.

Meanwhile counselors and preachers are on campus to comfort students after five of their classmates were involved in a deadly crash.

"We have a lot of kids hurting right now. Our hearts go out to them, and the teachers are upset, too. All we can do is pray, and we would appreciate your prayers," said Scott Bray, Greene County High School Principal.

The accident happened on Brushy Creek Road near Leakesville Wednesday morning.

Principal Brays said Kodi Henderson, Dillon Reid, Steven"Bret" Nicholson, Joseph Lister and Russell "R. T." Green were inside the truck.

Officials said Lister and Green, the only survivors, were airlifted to USA Medical Center in Mobile.

Principal Bray described the students as great kids, and two of them played on the JV football team.

Bray said the accident has hit the town of Leakesville hard, too.

Flags were lowered at the Greene County Courthouse.

Bray said this isn't the first time this community has suffered this kind of loss.

"We lost a student in June. He was going to be the starting quarterback of the football team. We've actually lost five kids in six months. But our kids are resilient, and we will come together and get thru this," Bray said.

Green is listed in stable condition at USA Medical Center. Lister is in critical condition.
