JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WALA) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said the Narcotics Task Force arrested three men on drug charges in three separate case.

On Monday, Feb. 18, deputies responded to Farm Road in Vancleave. They said Martez Deandre Franklin, 30, was arrested and charged on a misdemeanor domestic violence, simple assault offense. Deputies said upon searching Franklin's property, they discovered marijuana plants growing in a room. Investigators said drug agents were alerted. They said he is now charged with felony cultivation. Officials said they seized the plants and six weapons.

Franklin faces up to six months in jail and a $500 fine, if convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence simple assault. He faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine, if convicted of felony cultivation of marijuana.

On Tuesday Feb. 19, drug agents stopped a vehicle on Griffin Street in west Moss Point. Authorities said Teri Lynn Blake, 52, was stopped on a traffic violation when they discovered she was in possession of Dilaudids. Blake was charged with a possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute offense. Blake faces up to 16 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, if convicted. She was on probation for a previous prescription forgery conviction. The Mississippi Department of Corrections has placed a hold on Blake.

Also on Tuesday, authorities said drug agents did a knock-and-talk at an apartment complex on Macphelah Road in west Moss Point and arrested George Taylor, 33, and charged him on a possession of cocaine offense.
