Ferry service suspended pending repair

MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - The Alabama Department of Transportation suspended its Mobile Bay ferry service, between Dauphin Island and Ft. Morgan, Monday due to needed repairs to the Marissa Mae Nicole Ferry.

There is no indication at this time exactly when ferry service will resume, however officials are optimistic repairs to the vessel can be made in a timely manner.

ALDOT regularly runs two ferries in Mobile Bay, the Marissa Mae Nicole and the Fort Morgan, which is currently undergoing repairs.
